Portable DVD players:

They are mainly for personal use rather than business. They are used in cars for passengers to watch while on a long journey.

Advantages:

• They are small and compact
• They can play music from CDs
• They are portable

Disadvantages:

• The screen is low resolution and the quality of viewing can be poor
• The screen is small, making it difficult to view
• The sound is not group viewing friendly

Portable media players:

A portable media player is a device that plays digital media. It is usually small in size, and it can come in different colors. Besides its compact size, a player has other valuable features; for instance, in most cases, it is capable of playing more than one type of media. The different types of media that can be played on any media player are pictures, video and audio files.

Advantages:

• They are compact
• They can hold up to 100 GB of data
• They are not fragile
• They are easy to use

Disadvantages:

• They have very small screens
• The earphones that come with the device are low quality

These devices are not used much these days since phones have features which serve the purposes of portable DVD players and Portable media players, and so do laptops.
